★《非裔美人歷史月特輯》- 非裔美人指揮家：第五集/ Tania Leon (1943-)

1943年出生的古巴裔美籍的指揮/作曲家Tania Leon這兩年來在美國獲獎無數。2021年以她的作曲”Stride”獲得普立茲獎，2022年更獲得由美國總統親自頒布的Kennedy Center Honors(相當於國家文藝獎)的榮譽。
1967年搭乘當時被稱為「Freedom Flight」的班機移居美國，Tania的美國夢從此展開。當時到紐約大學(NYU)就讀的她因為對作曲的興趣把原本的古典鋼琴演奏主修換成了作曲，並結識了當時創辦Dance Theater of Harlem的Arthur Mitchell，並成為該舞團的音樂總監。如此豐富的經歷讓Tania Leon成為自上世紀以來最重要的指揮及作曲家之一。而對於指揮的學習Tania 也拜鼎鼎大名的Lenard Bernstein為師，進而開展了她指揮的生涯。
